Finally! Trip pics!
Sunday we started out from Fruitland (Idaho) and drove into Ontario (Oregon). From there we took a long day trip over to the John Day Fossil Beds, which is between John Day and Dayville. Behind the cut are a little over 40 clickable thumbnails from the day. First shot is Malheur Butte in Ontario, which is an inactive volcano. Last shots are the lilacs in from of the house when we got home.

I love them too. My Mom has a huge one in her yard back home. When I moved to VA, I took a little starter plant. Planted it in the perfect place in my back yard. It took 5 years before the first bloom came on it. Then when it got big enough to be really pretty.. at about year 8, I divorced my X, and had to move and leave it behind ;-( Oh well. Maybe I'll get another starter from her.

But how wonderful to stand and look at them and you can tell the story of your life with them! xoxo

Careful of shrubs, I have boxwoods out front, it drives me crazy to keep trimming them back ;-) But on sad note, I lost my HUGE red maple this year ;-( Last August when we had the drought it hard died. All the leaves fell over night. I was hoping it was just because of no rain. But it hasn't come back this spring. No buds. So now I get to figure out how to pay someone to remove this HUGE tree before it decides to fall on the house. Life is fun yeah?????

Nice photos! I'm glad you got to take a mini vacation. I would kill for one about now. LOL Only two more weeks until my surgery though so maybe I will be able to take a nice vacation after that?? Time will tell.
