Bert and Hailey in the garage

Hailey helping with dinner

About the garage, if you haven't ever seen it, the redone and cleaned up room meant little, other than Bert and Hai in it. But until today you couldn't get in there without moving sideways around things. The freezer had been sitting in front of the workbench for years, with it moved, thanks to Matt, I can get to the bench again. And there's a ton of room for Bert to go out there out of the sun and sit.
In the produce photo you have the starts of our dinner. There's potatoes, onions, cherry tomatoes (from Matt and Jeannie), green beans, Serrano chili, Japanese or Fingerling eggplant, cheddar cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini (from Matt and Jeannie), and a tequila bell pepper. There are before and after photos of the food.
Hailey was in charge of breaking the beans into the bowl while I chopped other things up. we added more beans, tomatoes and potato than in the photo. When it was all cut up we placed it in my largest roaster and added a cup of oil that had crushed garlic, a bit of chili powder, and some Nature's Seasons added to it. Mixed to coat it all, covered and baked until tender. Bert had two huge helpings with a side of roast beef. I'm on my second dish and it's not only tasty, it's got pretty much everything I need for the day in it.
Other than that, it's been a very good day. Bert was kept busy thinking of things to do with Hailey while Matt did the yard sale and rearranged the garage. They stapled, punched holes, played with the calculator, looked at photos, watched TV, and my highlight-they played the harmonica while Timber sang along. He's been so happy all day, his sugar levels are excellent, his appetite is good, and all seems right with the world.
