MIDVALE — Those heading to the polls in Midvale today will have a little something extra to think about, as one of their mayoral candidates will spend election day behind bars, on marijuana related charges.
Andy Nystrom, 50, is running for mayor of Midvale against incumbent Ed Meyer.
Nystrom, though, has been arrested and is suspected of growing marijuana in his attic.
Nystrom, and his wife Veronica, were both arrested and are due in District Court Nov. 14.
Veronica Nystrom has posted her $10,000 bond last month, but Andy Nystrom is still being held on a $50,000 bond.
