Aug. 13th, 2009 09:00 pmGods I'm tired. Sleep tonight should be better.
I talked to Dr C's office early, like at 8 this morning, and the receptionist was shocked by the story of the hospital and Bert. I talked to Dr C herself and lunch and made it clear that I wasn't alone so if anything was said, I have someone to back my story. She was shocked and said she'd order the xray reports and call me. She didn't want the Dr's report since she already knew he didn't do anything. She called back later this afternoon to say that she wants him in the office Wednesday at 9am, he'll be 1-1 1/2 hours, and she's opening that up and taking the needle out. It's fine until then but it does have to come out.
Have I mentioned the part where she makes her own calls to patients? I love that.
Matt saw Dr Foote this morning for his foot. He told the good surgeon what was going on with Bert. And Dr F told him that if Dr C can't get it to let him know and HE will.
So, it seems that the family doctor and the orthopedic surgeon agree that this isn't a good thing, and that the person in ER blew it badly.
In the rest of the Bert news, as long as I'm here, I'm putting bactrin on the incision and it's looking okay so far. The toe is healing nicely, I'm very pleased with it. And the eczema is responding amazingly with the new ointment. The leg that was the worst isn't bumpy at all now and his arms are much better. With any luck we should have the current round beaten in the next week.
Once all this is taken care of, I'll be investigating a procedure suggested by the podiatrist to see if it's safe to have his leg checked and possibly treated by a vascular surgeon to open the blockages a bit and get us some circulation so we don't have to panic as badly about infections.
