Talking with a friend this morning and telling her a bit about a few of the kids here led me to taking new photos and deciding to post about them.

All posted in alphabetical because that's how they came out

Daisy 1-1-11
Daisy 1-1-11

This is Daisy, sometimes called Davey or Dai or if he's in trouble he's David. He's named for David Wenham. (You'll see a theme in names) He's one of the younger cats, about 2. Dai is a boy. He's a very sweet little guy and like a limp rag when you pick him up. He's very floofy and has a squirrel tail. He's one of the biggest cuddlers. He does, however, like to bonzai jump the mom out of nowhere and lands on my chest. He'd spend his days on someone being petted, or not, and sleeping. He picks on the other cats sometimes, but mostly he cuddles and sleeps. He came from Jeannie and I owned one of his half siblings, Inigo (balboa) aka Sneakers, until he died.

diego 1-1-11
diego 1-1-11

This is Diego or Dee. She's one of the older cats, a little over 5 now. Diego is named for Diego Alatriste. Diego is a girl. She's got the most amazing feeling fur, very soft and dense. Almost like a rex rabbit. She's very stand-offish. She likes to be petted sometimes or held a little. But she's very happy to sit near you and not be touched. She's known for her psychotic episodes and has been on valium from time to time. She'll let you pet her, but she may turn and try to remove your hand, then wants petted again right after. She socializes with some of the others, but she really doesn't cuddle even with them. My vet still swears she's a feral cat I drag in. Dee came from Jeannie and I have her litter mate also.

Estel and Diego 1-1-11

Estel 1-1-11
Estel 1-1-11

This is Estel, or Est. She's the smallest physically of the family at about 5 pounds. She's named for Aragorn as a child. Estel is about 3 1/2. She was born on my birthday. Estel is positive she owns me. And I believe that when Sneakers died he told her to take over caring for me because that's what she does. She's very posesive and gets very upset if she catches me with other cats. She's the only one allowed in my bedroom and likes to sleep under the covers with me for short periods. She gets along with all the other cats very well. She came from Ann at the vet.

Hitch 1-1-11
Hitch 1-1-11

This is Hitch (for Everett Hitch). He's obviously mostly Siamese and the youngest of the crew at less than a year old. He's also the largest already. He's a beautiful boy. Hitch is very demanding of time and attention. He likes to grab you with his front paws/legs and hold on, he also gives hugs. He shares a mother with Estel and his father was a former cats also (Kolya, who looks to be seal point Siamese and is about 22 pounds at not quite 2 years). He's a busy little guy, into everything and still at destructive kitten level. He also sneak attacks other cats, not mean but wanting to play constantly. He has beautiful pale blue eyes. His best buddy is Daisy. He came from Ann at the vet.

Jack 1-1-11
Jack 1-1-11

This is Jack. She's named for Jack Sparrow. Jack is a girl. She's about 4 years old. Jack was Bert's cat almost exclusively. She's adapted mostly to his being gone, but if I leave his door open that's where she is, in his desk chair. She's a fairly plain tabby, nothing real remarkable about her except her very green eyes. Jack gets along with all the other cats, though if she gets upset she'll beat them up. Mostly she sits in the window or on top of a cabinet and watches the world. She sits on the back of my desk chair at night and watches the computer. Jack came from Jeannie, who had her brother for a couple years (he disappeared when they were moving)

Will 1-1-11
Will 1-1-11

This is Will, she's named for Will Turner. Will is a girl and the prettiest color-wise of the bunch. Will is Diego's litter mate. Will is a girl. She's the mother in the house. She takes care of everyone, teaches any new animal the rules of the house, trains them to use the litter boxes, everyone has learned how to take care of the others from her. She stops as she walks through the hall to offer one of the others a lick or two on the top of their head. She's also the tattler, running to yell at me when someone is being bad. She doesn't like to be touched often but won't stop you if you try. She refuses to drink out of a dish and will only drink from a drizzling faucet. Will came from Jeannie.

Louise 1-1-11
Louise 1-1-11

This is Louise, named for Thelma and Louise. She's the oldest at almost 6. I had her sister, Thelma, but we lost her shortly after they came to live with me. Lousie is a girl. She's the Grande Dame of the household and a major drama queen. If she's not feeling well she pound the floor with her foot while laying on her side and whining. She was a tiny thing before being spayed and after has spent her days laying around and eating. Lou weighs 16 pounds now. She was so little when I got her that she had to be bottle fed some and bathed in the sink, then she'd sit inside my shirt to be warm until she was dry. She still tries to crawl in my shirt and she's known for getting in the shower with me. She loves most people and is very vocal if she's upset. Louise came from Jeannie.

Taffy 1-1-11
Taffy 1-1-11

This is Taffy. She's a much older Pomeranian and a recent addition to my zoo. She's much larger than most Pom's I've had. Taffy is a girl. She gets along very well with the cats, likes to follow me everywhere, and spends most of the time sleeping. Taffy came from a person in a care facility that can't care for her anymore.

Patches 1-1-11
Patches 1-1-11

This is Patches. Patches is a grey and yellow mottled cockatiel. Patches is a girl. Patches is about 14 years old. She was originally Jewell's and I had a lemon yellow male. When Jewell moved out I inherited the bird. She used to lay eggs when Peaches was alive, though they were in separate cages (because Peaches was bigger and plucked her). She talks a little and is very easy to handle if you take her out. She doesn't put up with issues from the cats and teaches them early to leave her alone by trying to remove their toes.

And that's it. Most of the cats were very small when I got them, needing bottle fed and bathed to survive. All are fixed and have never had kittens. They're also all declawed and never been outside since I got them. Some have just never been outside ever. They're all crate trained and ride in the car fairly well that way. They're also all on a special diet because of bladder issues (cysts).

And you all wondered what I did in my spare time, and with all my excess money.
