May. 1st, 2011 08:49 amA few of us around here are racing fans. And we all have our memories of past favorites or stars or heroes of the racing world. Some are local guys that run out every weekend all year and keep the locals entertained while risking injury or, rarely, death. Some are open wheel heroes, like the World of Outlaws men, who make a living racing all over the world, or Indy Cars, or Formula One, or any version of NASCAR. Sometimes there are a chosen few that are remembered after they retire or die.
Today marks 17 years since one of the greatest Formula One drivers in history died in a track accident. I won't bore you to death with a lot here, but I'll give you a few links to go read about him. And a few photos to enjoy.
